As the Buffalo Bills scored 26 unanswered points Sunday, Pittsburgh Steelers fans weren’t afraid to let team ownership know how they felt. “Fire Tomlin” chants were audible during the Steelers’ home loss.Head coach Mike Tomlin didn’t criticize the calls for his job when asked about them on Tuesday.“In general, I agree with them – from this perspective,” Tomlin said. “Football is a game. We are in the sport entertainment business. And so if you root for the Steelers, entertaining them is winning. And so when you’re not winning, it’s not entertaining. And if you’ve been in this business, you understand that. And so I respect it, I share their frustrations, I understand what makes this thing go.“Winning is what makes this thing go.”[Get more Steelers news: Pittsburgh team feed]In his 19th season as Steelers head coach, Tomlin has famously never led the team to a losing season, and only three times in 18 prior years finished at .500. But the Steelers have not won a Super Bowl since the 2008 season, his second year in the job. They have not advanced to a Super Bowl in 15 years, since the 2010 season. While the Steelers have earned a playoff berth in four of five prior seasons, their last playoff win was nine years ago.They sit at 6-6 entering a division road game against the Baltimore Ravens.Tomlin said he hasn’t lost confidence in his process. “We got to roll our sleeves up and go back to work,” Tomlin told reporters. “It is no different than what you guys do. You guys might write a bad article or a couple of bad articles – does it lessen your confidence in your ability to write articles the next time? I imagine it doesn’t, because you’ve been doing it all your adult lives. And it’s the same for us, as individuals and as a collective in this business. Certainly our last performance wasn’t up to snuff, but I don’t know that it lessens our belief in self or our ability to deliver individually and collectively moving forward.”Tomlin said change comes naturally week to week in the NFL as teams prepare for different opponents, different weather conditions and different sets of players healthy enough to compete.He doesn’t anticipate any major changes to his coaching staff or process, but he’ll continue to evaluate.“Does that happen to you when you write a bad article?” Tomlin asked. “Certainly it does, because if you got a desire to be great, you better analyze things in a really critical way, you know what I mean? And I think that’s what you’re asking. And certainly if winning is our agenda and it is, we’re not going to be hypersensitive to that.”
