The Washington Commanders have dealt with a plethora of injuries during the 2025 season. Those injuries have resulted in the loss of key components of the Commanders’ roster, which is why their season hasn’t gone to plan.Some of the player movement required to keep a team on the field this year meant finding new players, which is what GM Adam Peters did when he brought in wide receiver Treylon Burks to the Commanders’ practice squad in October. Burks’ NFL career had a rough start, but he gave us a glimpse of what he is capable of on Sunday night.It was the opening drive of the third quarter, and the Commanders were down 13-7. Marcus Mariota led the offense down the field on a clean, calculated drive that was mostly error-free. Asked about how he felt about the catch after all that he’s been through, he replied, “I mean, I know what’s in me. I’m (inaudible). Sorry, I lost my voice from screaming too loud, but yeah, I’m God-driven, and I’m just blessed.” He also said that he could see the ball the whole way.Burks was originally drafted by the Tennessee Titans in 2022. His tenure with the Titans was riddled with injuries and several coaching changes that hindered his development. He joined the Commanders in October and was elevated to the main roster after Luke McCaffrey was injured in November.He underwent surgery on the middle finger of his right hand roughly two weeks ago, and he made this one-handed grab like he’s been doing it his whole life.
