The Las Vegas Raiders have dealt with multiple injuries across the interior of their offensive line in recent weeks. Starting right guard Jackson Powers-Johnson suffered a serious injury that may end his campaign prematurely. Pete Carroll decided to shuffle his offensive line as a result, moving center Jordan Meredith to guard to place Will Putnam at center. The initial results were disastrous. Putnam was totally unplayable at center, and Meredith struggled with his position change. Since then, Meredith has also suffered an injury, forcing Carroll to consider additional lineup changes.Fans had been calling for third-round rookie Caleb Rogers to make his debut at guard. That finally happened versus the Los Angeles Chargers, though Carroll wouldn’t fully commit to Rogers, holding an in-game competition for reps between him and veteran Atonio Mafi.Given all the uncertainty at guard and center, the Raiders could look for outside help to finish the season. An opportunity just became available. The Houston Texans waived veteran guard Laken Tomlinson on Tuesday. Tomlinson had been starting for them earlier this season, and was a full-time starter for the Seattle Seahawks last year.Texans released guard Laken Tomlinson https://t.co/WLFw3fGtkRpic.twitter.com/jWIwXUCEFV— Around The NFL (@AroundTheNFL) December 2, 2025Tomlinson played a team-high 1,097 snaps for the Seahawks last season. He was on an expiring contract, and the Seahawks decided against bringing him back. Tomlinson signed with the Texans, but was recently benched before being released.Tomlinson probably possesses interest in joining a postseason contender. The 33-year-old Tomlinson would be a temporary solution for the Raiders at guard with five games left, but the rebuilding Raiders probably have little interest in short-term solutions, rightfully so. That should prevent John Spytek from adding another veteran that won’t help in 2026.This article originally appeared on Raiders Wire: Should the Raiders sign veteran guard Laken Tomlinson?
