Three-star 2027 DB Karnell James commits to Texas Football

The Texas Longhorns have gotten an early start on their 2027 class. On Wednesday, the Longhorns secured a commitment from three-star cornerback Karnell James. The talented cornerback is the first domino to fall for the Longhorns, who have been busy building a brighter future over the last week. In James, Texas, is getting a player who is ranked as the 52nd best cornerback in his class by 247Sports. They also rank him as the 70th-best player from Texas. He recorded 31 tackles, including five for a loss. The newest Longhorn also added one interception and seven pass breakups to his resume. Due to his play, James saw his stock skyrocket, and some of the top programs in the nation came calling. During the recruiting process, James drew interest from Arizona State, Baylor, Florida, California, and Houston. While those programs have had varying levels of success, Texas made an offer that James could not refuse. While there are still plenty of holes to fill, that is not a bad group to start with. They should help attract more top talent.
