Amik Robertson takes full responsibility for Ryan Flournoy touchdown

Lions cornerback Amik Robertson took full responsibility for the blown coverage that led to a 42-yard touchdown reception for Cowboys wide receiver Ryan Flournoy in the fourth quarter that brought Dallas within three points (30-27) after the successful two-point conversion. Replays showed a potential miscommunication between Robertson and safety Brian Branch. The argument could be made that Robertson was meant to be covering the flat with Branch having the deep half of the field, effectively playing Cover 2 to that side.Robertson is not throwing Branch under the bus. He’s laying all the blame on himself. “That was all me, man,” Robertson said after the game. He added that he simply got greedy and overplayed and tried to jump the route.Amik Robertson in the locker room last night said he got greedy and overplayed the route. Just tried to jump it. They would score on their next possession to make the score 37-27 and would go on to win 44-30. The play, however, was more highlighted with the game being in primetime and leading to a touchdown, allowing for more social media reaction. Robertson took the high road and, in the end, it’s a learning experience moving forward but the Lions still came away with the needed victory. This article originally appeared on Lions Wire: Amik Robertson takes full responsibility for Ryan Flournoy touchdown
