Offense wins games, defense wins titles.The Houston Texans’ defense is good enough to win them a Super Bowl title.Behind a three-turnover day from Patrick Mahomes, the Texans secure their fifth straight win on the road, dismantling the Kansas City Chiefs in a 20-10 win. Houston only scored twice, but it was enough to keep Kansas City at bay until the closing seconds of the evening.With the loss, Kansas City is all but eliminated from the playoffs, now sitting a 6-7. At 8-5, the Texans have a 90 percent chance of making the postseason with four games remaining.A quiet second half from the offense, Texans quarterback C.J Stroud threw for 203 yards and a touchdown, including a 7-yard pass to Woody Marks in the second quarter. Nico Collins totaled four catches for 121 yards, including three catches for over 30 yards.Late in the fourth quarter, backup running back Dare Ogunbowale scored a go-ahead touchdown on a 6-yard run to put Houston a game back of the Jacksonville Jaguars in the AFC South. With Daniel Jones out for the remainder of the season, it seems like Houston is in a two-team race toward the division title. With a banged-up offensive line, Mahomes finished 14 of 33 for 160 yards with no touchdowns and three interceptions. Kansas City’s lone score came in the opening drive of the second half on a 2-yard run from Kareem Hunt on fourth down. Ultimately, the game hinged on Andy Reid’s aggressive play-calling in the fourth quarter to try and secure a win. Tied at 10-10, Kansas City went for it at its own 31-yard line and failed to convert. Ogunbowale would score six plays later, giving Houston a touchdown lead. After that, the Chiefs failed on fourth down on the ensuing drive when Rashee Rice dropped a wide-open pass that would have been a first down. After a seventh punt from Tommy Townsend, Kansas City got the ball back one last time deep in its end zone and Mahomes was picked off by Azeez Al-Shaair, this time officially ending all talks of a comeback.Kansas City finished with seven drops on the evening, including two that led to picks by Al-Shaair and Jalen Pitre. Stroud, who only completed three passes in the second half, surpassed the 10,000-yard passing marker in his career.Houston returns home to take on the Arizona Cardinals and Las Vegas Raiders before hitting the road one final time against the Los Angeles Chargers.
