CBB: Pepperdine/UC San Diego Prediction
The Pepperdine defense leaves more to be desired every year and this season looks no different to me. I see a strong advantage with the home team tonight.
For my trend followers, UCSD has won 10 of it’s last 11 home games. While not regarded as a top college basketball environment by any means, they love their hoops in La Jolla.
UCSD takes care of the ball and they don’t turn it over much, I expect them to put on an offensive clinic tonight at home. They looked great in the first game of the season. A close loss to a more dominant crosstown opponent in SDSU. If they had shot the ball a bit better than 32% they would’ve won that one. You can expect to see a double digit margin in this one, go Tritons!
Their field goal percentage should increase dramatically this game against a lowly Pepperdine defense. Look for San Diego’s guards to pick apart the perimeter defense from the Waves. I also expect Pepperdine to struggle against UCSD’s zone defense in this one.
