Good Afternoon DBB Army! After an EASY 3U POD winner yesterday with the Rams +2.5, we’re back at it again tonight with another FREE Article Play Of The Day right here on BetSportMedia.
Although there is a ton of action between NBA, College Hoops and NHL tonight… we are taking our talents over to The TGL for some Simulator Golf League Action. Nope, there’s no need to clean your glasses… you’re reading that correctly!
This is a brand new indoor league created by Tiger Woods & Rory McIlroy themselves, and tonight’s matchup will be the official “Week 2” of this never before seen atmosphere for the game of golf. With each week providing a different head to head matchup, we find ourselves with an intriguing spot tonight as The Los Angeles Golf Club takes on Jupiter Links Golf Club, AKA the team of one of the founder’s himself – Tiger Woods.
Los Angles Golf Club Roster (Tonight)
- Colin Morikawa
- Justin Rose
- Sahith Theegala
Jupiter Golf Club Roster (Tonight)
- Tiger Woods
- Kevin Kisner
- Max Homa
The format for this league is definitely different than the traditional PGA Tour round of golf. Each week’s matchup consists of 15 holes, and is divided between 9 holes of 3-Man Alternate Shot, as well as 6 holes of 1v1 “Singles” (H2H) Holes rotating between each team’s players. For those that don’t know, this league is INDOORS which means a large majority of the shots are taken into a golf simulator. Once the players/teams get within 50 yards of the target green, they are then moved over to the real-life green setup that moves/elevates accordingly. If you didn’t get the chance to tune in last week, it’s honestly worth a bit of your time as it provides an interesting entertainment value.
At the time of this article being written, Los Angeles Golf Club currently sits as a -163 Moneyline favorite against Tiger Woods & Team Jupiter. (Via Fanduel SportsBook) Although The TGL is currently not available via FanDuel in all states, the league is widely available on offshore markets such as Bovada & similar websites.
For tonight’s pick, we are going to FADE the greatest golfer of all time and take Los Angeles Golf Club in this Week 2 Matchup. The reasoning? It’s pretty simple. Team Los Angeles is FAR & WIDE a better team in comparison to Team Jupiter. When looking at Team Jupiter, you’re faced with a Former-Self Tiger Woods, a Half-Retired Kevin Kisner who has to fly out ASAP for his tournament Thursday, and a fan favorite in Max Homa who openly stated he is going through a swing change in addition to his new equipment change.
Although Team Jupiter is loaded with fan favorites, especially those of the casual golf fan, the # here for LA GC is too great to pass up. Between Colin Morikawa, Justin Rose & Sahith Theegala, I would take them all H2H against Team Jupiter 9/10 whether it be individually or as a group. All 3 of them are above average to elite golfers on The PGA Tour, and although they’re not the flashiest or jump off the page for most – the combined talent of this group far outweighs that of Jupiter Links. I’m coming on the record to say that I’m a HUGE fan of Tiger Woods & Max Homa, so this isn’t an easy side for me to take. At the end of the day I have to go with what I know, and that’s the fact that not a single golfer on Jupiter Links is currently performing anywhere near the top of their game.
This is Tiger Woods playing golf on National Televison, which means this could be the most watched week of The TGL they’ll see all season. With more viewers comes more casual bettors, and you already know every single one of them will throw their coin on The GOAT at a price that still gives them belief he can win. Money doesn’t care about your feelings, it’s time to put your emotions to the side and realize we’re not living in the mid 2000’s anymore. Feel free to take it straight with The DBB Gang and drink the juice or even use it as a parlay piece… but Team LA GC will take us to the cash counter.
