This week, a priority for the Colorado Rockies is completing their coaching staff. According to reporting from MLB.com’s Thomas Harding, Alon Leichman will be their new pitching coach.According to multiple Major League sources the #Rockies plan to name former #Marlins assistant pitching coach Alon Leichman as their new pitching coach. In 2016, he was recruited by the Los Angeles Dodgers as a coach for their instructional league. The Seattle Mariners hired Leichman in 2017. First, he worked in their player development system and in 2018 became the pitching coach of their Dominican Academy in the Dominican Republic. After that, in 2019, he was promoted to pitching coach of the Single-A affiliate West Virginia Power. The next two years, 2020-2021, saw him as the pitching coach of the Mariners’ Double-A affiliate, the Arkansas Travelers. He was promoted to the Triple-A Tacoma Rangers in 2022. In 2023, when he was 33, Leichman made the jump to MLB when he was hired by the Cincinnati Reds as an assistant pitching coach.
