Chiefs DL Chris Jones remains optimistic about the rest of the season

Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman Chris Jones spoke with reporters during his postgame press conference, sharing his optimism heading into the rest of the regular season as the playoff hopes take a hit following the Week 14 loss to the Houston Texans.”We’re 6-7. We have four games left, we can finish the season 10-7, and we’ll have a shot at the playoffs if the cards fall in the right place,” said Jones. “We control how we finish the season. We can finish strong and, God willing, can find a way to get into the playoffs.”The Chiefs will need to win their final four games and get some help with teams ahead of them in the Wild Card race losing games. According to NFL Next Gen Stats, Kansas City has a 15 percent chance of qualifying for the postseason.”We still have an opportunity. Even though it’s a slim opportunity, we still have an opportunity. We have to finish strong,” said Jones, “No matter what, we have to finish strong to put ourselves in a position to be able to get in the playoffs if that opportunity presents itself. For us, the door is still open – it might be a 10 percent chance, it might be a five percent chance – but as long as we have an opportunity and a chance, we can control that. We finish strong and let the cards fall where they fall.”Chris Jones tossed him asideHOUvsKC on NBCStream on @NFLPlus + Peacock pic.twitter.com/8eGsc0uPV2— NFL (@NFL) December 8, 2025Jones ignited a ferocious defensive effort in the second half against the Texans and secured a sack on the night while consistently pressuring CJ Stroud. This article originally appeared on Chiefs Wire: Chiefs DL Chris Jones remains optimistic about the rest of the season
