Indianapolis Colts’ defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo could be one head coaching candidate who draws some attention during the upcoming offseason. In Dianna Russini’s latest ‘What I’m hearing’ article for The Athletic, she mentions Anarumo among the assistant coaches who could “garner serious looks” during the upcoming head coaching cycle. This isn’t the first time this season that we’ve heard Anarumo’s name mentioned as a possible head coaching candidate.A few weeks ago, Anarumo was asked by local media about his name being in those conversations.Has been mentioned prominently as a potential Giants target https://t.co/ZgI4NVemEK— Joel A. Erickson (@JoelAErickson) November 25, 2025In Anarumo’s first season as the Colts’ defensive play caller, this unit ranks ninth in points per game allowed. Indianapolis is also seventh in yards per rush and 15th in yards per pass surrendered. The Colts are also near the top of the NFL in interceptions.Anarumo runs a malleable and quick-to-adjust defensive scheme that adapts to what each opponent is doing and what his players do best.
