Former Vikings wide receiver claimed by AFC North team of waivers

Back in August, the Minnesota Vikings sent a 2026 fifth-round pick and a 2027 fourth-round pick to bring wide receiver Adam Thielen back to Minnesota. However, this reunion would not go as many expected, as Thielen would post just eight receptions for 69 yards across 11 games played, leading to his eventual release from the team. Thielen, 35, would land on waivers, but did not stay there long, as the Pittsburgh Steelers would submit a waiver claim and would wind up landing the former Minnesota State Maverick. The Steelers are in a rough spot at the position, as DK Metcalf, who they acquired via trade before the season began, has had a lackluster season, and the surrounding cast has not done much else. Adam Thielen lands in Pittsburgh, hoping to make an impact and help the Steelers sneak into the playoffs or finish with their patented 9-8 record once again. His experience and knowledge of the game could help a younger wide receiver room in Pittsburgh develop nicely throughout the remainder of the season.
