BECKLEY, WV (WVNS) – Look out Alabama, WVU Tech is headed to the national championship.They knocked off the only remaining team ranked higher than them, which is MidAmerica Nazarene University. Linus Kleinewiese opened the scoring right before halftime in a corner kick scrum. Julen Recalde assisted Leny Duperray for what would be the game winner in 2-1 victory.

It is the energy of the whole group that is really going to determine how far this team could go and if not everyone is on the same wavelength, if not everyone has the same attitude, team first mentality,” said Head Coach Nick Semnani.Semnani added that their main focus is sticking true to their identity as a team.“We have one day of rest between all of these matches,” said Semnani. “So [the focus is] are we doing the right things that’s going to allow us our bodies to recover as quickly as possible? Already recovering mentally, are you recovering spiritually and already able to get ourselves back to where we need to be?”They have played a lot of soccer over the course of a week, but the team has still been able to pull out win after win. The Golden Bears will take on Grand View University for a shot at their first ever NAIA title and to cap off this magical season.
