The Denver Broncos gave contract extensions to kicker Wil Lutz (three-year deal), center Luke Wattenberg (four-year deal) and defensive lineman Malcolm Roach (three-year deal) coming out of their bye week. After those extensions, their most notable remaining 2026 pending free agent is defensive lineman John Franklin-Myers.It looks like the Broncos will let JFM test free agency as they haven’t opened negotiations on a potential extension. The veteran lineman gave an honest assessment of his situation last week. “Players don’t offer each other extensions,” Franklin-Myers said, via KUSA-TV’s Mike Klis. “You can never be mad at somebody getting money. And I can never be mad at how a team may view you or value you. I got a job to do. And I’m going to do it as many times as they let me. When I can’t do it anymore, then I’ll go somewhere else and do it.”Denver presumably won’t be the team that gives JFM a new contract in 2026, but he figures to get a big deal somewhere, and he’s happy for his teammates in the meantime.“I’ve been blessed to make money in this league and do my thing,” he said. “When it comes, it comes. It’s disappointing. You see it, but I’m happy for all my teammates for changing their lives and their families’ lives. But ultimately, I’m a football player, and I’m happy to be here. I’m happy to play with my teammates. And I’m happy to see them changing their families’ lives. If I can do anything to help them, then I’m more than willing.”The 29-year-old lineman has totaled 60 tackles, 26 quarterback hits and 11.5 sacks through 29 games (27 starts) with the Broncos. This might end up being his final season in Denver as the front office has seemingly prepared to move forward with Zach Allen, D.J. Jones, Malcolm Roach and third-round draft pick Sai’vion Jones in 2026. Social: Follow Broncos Wire on Facebook and Twitter/X!
