Vanderbilt basketball coach Mark Byington advocated for the Commodores’ football team to make the College Football Playoff.The football team finished the regular season at 10-2 with a win over Tennessee but is currently viewed as unlikely to make the CFP. The committee’s final rankings before the selection show will be released Dec. 2 (6 p.m. CT, ESPN).”I’m probably way too involved in the college playoffs right now,” Byington said. “Probably should just be more into basketball. But just looking at what Vanderbilt’s done, I think it’d be ridiculous to keep them out. They’ve shown they’re one of the best 10 teams in the country … and I haven’t seen anybody better than Diego (Pavia).
