Michigan State football got a massive boost to their defensive line on Monday evening, with a key player announcing his intent to return to Michigan State in 2026.Ben Roberts took to X to announce that he is spending his last year of eligibility in East Lansing. A native of Lakewood, Washington, he started his career at Oregon, where he spent two years before transferring to Michigan State. He has been a Spartan for the last two seasons. He has 24 tackles, 2 tackles for loss and a sack in his career to this point.Roberts is known for being an elite gap stuffer in the run game, being an integral part to the Spartans stopping the run. Per PFF, he graded as a 73.3 run game defender, which falls under very good. Roberts’ season was cut short, suffering a season ending injury in the Michigan game. He also missed the UCLA game. His senior year, he is looking for strong health and continuing to make a solid impact.
