CBB: Santa Clara/Portland Betting Prediction
It’s going to be a blood bath tonight at The Chiles Center. The away team (Santa Clara) is the far better team this year and it’s not close.
I’ll save you some reading, it’s the Broncos by way of murder tonight in this one. Santa Clara actually lost their last matchup against the Portland Pilots. An overtime loss late last February in, you guessed it, Portland. Obviously there are new players in this one and the teams are in different form than they were about one year ago. However Herb Sendek hasn’t forgotten that game, nor have the handful of players that were on the team for the Santa Clara last season.
Santa Clara is coming off a home slaughter against a lowly Pacific program, they won by 34 points. I don’t usually like backing teams coming off a huge win like that, but the Broncos are on the road tonight. They lost their last road game and when you pair that with last year’s matchup, we have a “perfect storm”.
Santa Clara is the far better team this year than Portland and are fairly underrated if you ask me. It may seem like a lot of points to lay on the road, but Santa Clara is going to run these boys out of the gym. Expect the Broncos to dominate offensively in the paint and control the defensive boards.
