CBB: UTSA/Saint Mary’s Betting Prediction
The UTSA Roadrunners are on the road tonight believe it or not. They are facing off against the Saint Mary’s Gaels men’s basketball team. Their records tell an accurate story in this one, the Gaels being the much better program and team this season.
Saint Mary’s is coming off a close loss to a feisty, young Arizona State team. Now they get a chance to bounce back against a much worse opponent in UTSA.
I expect the Gaels to win by a lot and control the pace of the game as a result. An easy Saint Mary’s victory goes hand in hand with a low total for this game. They are a defensive minded program under Randy Bennett. While they’ve been involved in some higher scoring games so far this season, we’ve seen them get back to their defensive ways in the last two games.
I think this line is a gift and should be much lower. The scariest aspect of this is that UTSA hasn’t gone under this number in the last 5 games. Trends are there to be broken and Saint Mary’s size and rebounding advantage, not to mention home court environment, should help this game sail way under 142.5.
