Happy Friday DBB Army, and a big cheers to the weekend ahead! Currently sitting at a 2-0 record this week on article plays, I’ve got one more for us tonight before we get into what should be a thrilling weekend for the NFL Playoffs.
For tonight’s play, we will be looking at the early NBA slate starting in Boston with the Magic taking on the Celtics at The TD Garden. For those who aren’t too familiar with myself, I would like to come on the record and state that I am a massive Boston fan. I try my best to pick and choose my spots where I see fitting, and quite frankly we’ve continued to have long-term success doing so. Tonight, we will be attacking a player prop angle that upon further research I’ve come to love and the #’s behind it says we have a great chance of taking this one to the cash counter.
Although they are the reigning NBA Champions, the Boston Celtics have been on a bit of a slide as of late – more specifically to start the new year of 2025. Whether it’s them coasting through the regular season or they simply just aren’t clicking is yet to be seen, but there is definitely some cause for questioning as both a fan and someone who has taken a wager on them in recent weeks. Automatically a ton of the hate and criticism can and will be directed towards their star player Jayson Tatum, who is exactly who we are targeting for tonight’s player prop.
Currently at the time of writing this article, the Celtics are sitting as a -14.5 favorite to the Magic tonight with Jayson Tatum’s “Points” O/U sitting at 25.5/26.5 depending on the book. Coming off an absolute DUD of a game against the Toronto Raptors where the Celtics got blown out and Tatum dropped a measly 16 points on 33% shooting, we are going to back Tatum to rebound strong tonight in a matchup where the Celtics look to gain their stride again.
Before this last game against Toronto, there were 12 times this season so far where Tatum had dropped less than 25 points in a game. The proceeding 12 games following those disappointing performances, Tatum has exceeded 25+ Points in TEN of those 12 games hitting at an 83% clip. In addition to this extremely high hit rate, Tatum is averaging a total of 30.9 PPG in those 12 bounce-back games combined! As someone who has created their brand off “betting #’s, not teams” – this provides a spot that I can’t resist tonight as someone who believes a strong effort from The C’s is on the horizon.
We will be riding with Jayson Tatum to score AT LEAST 25 Points in tonight’s game against the Magic. For those that have made it to the end of this article, all I’ll say is that The DBB VIP Team will be taking a trip up the ladder with this one tonight…
