5-star Chris Henry Jr. still weighing options amidst signing drama

If you are a follower of college football, then you know that National Signing Day is always one filled with drama. That is especially true for Oregon Duck fans, who have been able to enjoy the fireworks set off by Dan Lanning over the past few years when it comes to big-time flips on NSD. So it comes as no surprise that the Ducks are in on a major flip once again this year. Buzz leading up to signing day showed that Oregon was working hard to try to pry 5-star WR Chris Henry Jr. away from the Ohio State Buckeyes. Henry, the No. 1 WR in the class, has been committed to Ohio State since 2023, but the Ducks have stayed on him. The expectation was for Henry to sign with Ohio State on Wednesday morning, but in the moments leading up to his announcement, news broke that Buckeyes’ WR coach Brian Hartline, the main recruiter for Henry Jr., was leaving to take the head coaching job at USF. This reportedly “blindsided” Henry and caused him to delay his decision, despite announcing at his Mater Dei signing ceremony that he was committing to Ohio State. No Letter of Intent has been sent to the Buckeyes, and Henry came out on Wednesday morning in order to clarify his process. “I have not signed yet. Still trying to weigh my options due to coaching changes I just want to make the right decision for my future,” Henry wrote on social media.I have not signed yet. Still trying to weigh my options due to coaching changes I just want to make the right decision for my future. Gods plan— Chris Henry Jr (@ChrisHenryJr) December 3, 2025The current belief is that Henry is likely to flip to Oregon, but both the USC Trojans and the Buckeyes are still in the mix as well. This feels like something that could come to fruition later on Wednesday, or potentially on Thursday or Friday, before the early signing period comes to a close. At the moment, Oregon has the No. 2-ranked class in the 2026 cycle, but with Henry in the mix, it would bump them up to No. 1 in the nation, over the Trojans.
